For beach access - simply step out the front door to the white sand beach! The new ocean-side restaurant offers seafood, vegetarian, Mexican and American food. A full breakfast and beach towels are included.

The hotel has a relaxing ambiance, with whitewashed walls and ceilings. Art and plants are sprinkled throughout.All rooms have air conditioning; however, there are no phones or TV in the rooms.  I recommend one of the rooms off the Jacuzzi courtyard in the back, as they are the quietest.

The 20-room Hotel Tropical CasaBlanca is located one block from the beach and just two blocks from Yoga By The Sea Classes. This boutique hotel puts attention to detail in the choice of color, amenities and material usage. 

The on-site Villa called the Gran Casa is a newly renovated 6 bedroom, 5 ½ bathroom two-story property housing up to 12 people and is a perfect site for a group Yoga By The Sea Vacation. At the heart of the house is a living area with a fully equipped kitchen, sitting area and a dining room that seats 12 persons. The entertainment room has a 42 inch flat screen TV, a CD/DVD player, wet bar, and reading area. Each bedroom has air conditioning, ceiling fans, double beds, and luxurious cotton sheets. Private yoga classes may be conducted on the rooftop or in the sunny entertainment room.

A cook is included to prepare the food of your choice. The hotel will stock the refrigerator prior to your arrival (at an extra cost). Each bathroom is uniquely designed with water saving showers and toilets, floor lighting and 100% cotton towels.

Hotel Lunata is located one block from the Ahambra on the pedestrian walking street, Quinta Avenida (5th avenue). The hotel’s entrance is cool and shady. As you continue into the property, away from sunny Quinta, you view the tidy green courtyard garden with its palapa-covered breakfast area. The interior green space imparts a feeling of tranquility. The garden-facing rooms are larger than most other hotel rooms in Playa, and include a balcony terrace with a table and chairs. The top floor room is although smaller, is the least expensive, and includes a view of the ocean. There is a simple rooftop deck with chairs available to all clients.

Continental breakfast is provided, and beach towels may be rented for $1 USD.

Luna Blue is located about nine (walk able) blocks north of the Alhambra, off Quinta, in what locals call the “Italian neighborhood” of Playa with its many cafés, bistros, and Italian restaurants.

The hotel is more like the original Playa with its tropical outdoorsy feeling. While clients liked the hotel before the new owners Tony and Cheri bought it, with the refurbishing that they have done, they like it even more. The five kitchen rooms have a refrigerator, a stove, two beds and a trundle bed, making it convenient for friends or family who wish to share accommodations. All rooms have AC and palapa-covered terraces that look out over the tropical garden. Guests receive a pass to the Mamitas Beach Club, located a long three blocks east from the hotel on one of the nicest stretches of Caribbean sand in the area. Mamitas sports an international clientele of sun lovers. The music is groovy. A $10 USD deposit is required for use of hotel beach towels.
