YOGA BY THE SEA on the island of ISLA MUJERES

Located directly east of Cancun, the delightful island of Isla Mujeres served as a hideout for pirates working the Caribbean coast in days of yore.

The now genial Isla (as it's known by the natives) is a short ferry boat ride from Cancun, on the tip of theYucatan Peninsula.

You'll find the friendly island atmosphere perfect for a relaxing vacation with friends or loved ones. You can easily walk from the east side of the island to the west - catching sunrise in the morning and later, watching the sun set as the local fishing boats return with their day's catch.

The town center, which is 1/8th mile from the hotel, has shops, internet cafes, and even a Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry store. You can rent scooters to buzz down to El Garrafon National Undersea Park or take a four-seater golf cart and move on Island Time (i.e., slowly) past picturesque scenery and beautiful secluded beaches.

The Na Balam Beach Hotel is the site of our yoga retreat. Situated on what is considered the best beach on the island, the Na Balam offers three restaurants, two bars, a pool for the use of yoga participants, hammocks, and two spacious palapas-covered yoga spaces.

There's great live music on the weekend and quiet spaces for reflection throughout the property.

DETAILS:

Accommodations: All rooms are deluxe, with two queen-sized beds or one king-sized bed, private balcony or patio, air conditioning, and a ceiling fan. Deluxe accommodations are on a double (shared) basis. Privates are available for a supplemental charge.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price of your vacation. Gourmet vegetarian meals are available.

Getting There: Fly into the Cancun Internationa lAirport. If you wish to be met at the airport, arrangements can be made through the Na Balam Beach Hotel to have a representative pick you up and transport you in a private van.

Round-trip shuttle costs as follows:
$60 USD per person (for four people traveling together).
$80 per person for 1-3 people traveling together.
Price includes ferry service and transportation on Isla Mujeres from the dock to the hotel.

Alternatively, you can hire a cab from the airport to take you to the Puerto Juarez ferry dock where you take the express boat service to the island. Boats leave every 30 minutes and the ride takes 15 minutes. For a small fee, a taxi can take you from the dock to the hotel.

Yoga Information: This Yoga By The Sea™ Vacation includes meditation and morning yoga classes; afternoon restorative yoga classes; and question and answer sessions. Optional Teacher Training available upon request.

You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat, however the Na Balam provides yoga mats, blankets, belts, and foam blocks for your use.
